Whiskey Tasting

    Whiskey Tasting

March 11, Monday, 7 pm.  at the Needham History Center & Museum, 1147 Central Avenue.

This event is free and open to the public, but we need a head count so SIGN-UP is required. Call or email Gloria to let her know you are coming (greis@needhamhistory.org or 781-455-8860).

Join us and representatives of the Glendalough Distillery and The James Pub & Provisions, as we get ready for the St. Patrick’s Day festivities with an introduction to some fabulous whiskies and the stories behind the distillery. Taste some of the varieties of whiskey produced by Glendalough, accompanied by small bites from The James.  Over 21 only please.

Glendalough Distillery is a producer of fine single-malt Irish whiskies, finished first in bourbon barrels and then in a variety of other casks – sherry, madeira, porter, or Japanese mizunara-wood casks.  And though known for its whiskey, Glendalough also produces a variety of gins with botanical/seasonal flavors.  See these links for more about the making of Glendalough’s varieties of whiskies and gins.

The James Pub & Provisions is one of the newest entries in Needham’s impressive and growing list of restaurants.  It was recently featured in the Boston Globe’s Food section, and last month was named by the Globe as one of “The 37 Best New Restaurants” in the Boston area. Nestled in the old train station at 1027 Great Plain Avenue, The James’ menu features craft cocktails, a fresh and seasonal take on traditional pub fare, and live music on Thursdays and Sundays.
