NC Wyeth left Needham as a young man, but despite this long absence, he maintained a nostalgic longing for Needham and his family. This nostalgia was an inseparable part of his art – a source of inspiration and identity.  Needham images, especially his houses and his family, would be recurring themes in his work.

Gloria Polizzotti Greis is the Executive Director of the Needham History Center & Museum. She is also an Advisory Trustee of the NC Wyeth Research Foundation and Reading Libraries, a new organization housed in the former Zirngiebel/Wyeth property in Needham.
