Needham Center – Needham Heights
A new exhibit honoring Needham’s Tercentennial, “Needham Center – Needham Heights”, looks at the connection, and sometimes rivalry, between the two sections of town through a collection of rare photos that date back to the 1880s.

On April 19, 1921, 1,700 volunteers from all over town got together to create Memorial Park in honor of Needhamites who served in World War 1. An army-style field kitchen was set up in the lot across the street (now Sudbury Farms parking lot), operated by the Women's Auxilliary and the Women's Relief Corps, to feed the hungry workers. Note the Library in the background.
